For love of candles

We love candles! Nice dinner on the table, glass of wine and some nice candles do a mountain of good for relaxing evening. We have several if them almost every time with our dinner. So it isn't surprise when we saw some really nice candle holders in John Lewis on sale that we have to have them.

Both of them for £15.

We wanted to put them in place of our Egypt picture in the dining room. Our Egypt picture is our photo but it looks a little bit cheap.

My husband took it down and that when our problems started. There was very visible black outline on the wall! We have painted this room last year! We made proper look around the room ( with strong light) and discovered that there were shadows around our pictures and around ceiling!

That empty space is for our new candle holders. My husband washed it with damp cloth and then put one coat of white paint but it still have shadows.

The walls just looks dirty! So with purchase of our new candle holders we have to stop using candles in our house. Otherwise we will be painting it every year. I had to even wipe down our wallpaper! It had black dust on it!

 My husband bought big tub of proper white emulsion and we will be painting again this weekend.

So for love of candles we are redecorating our dining room. This big lovely candle is only for very, very special occasional and then only for decoration (no lighting it on)!
