This is our first picture of our baby. 12 week scan. I had to wiggle a little bit as the baby was jumping around and turning the wrong way. In the end we got this picture. I don't know why but I am quite sure that it is a boy.

We will know for sure on our 20 week scan.

So far we have done also some blood test and everything seems OK. Our chance of genetic problems is 1:1300 which isn't bad but it could be better. Also I am Rhesus Negative so I will have to get injection of anti-D so my body doesn't attack my baby. There is good possibility that our baby is Rhesus Positive.

I have announce our pregnancy to our families and friends and also to my work. I have to write a letter so it is all legal. This is the "form" I have used.

I am writing to let you know that I’m pregnant and to notify you of when I want to start my maternity leave and begin receiving statutory maternity pay (SMP).
My baby is due in the week beginning .............. I will give you my MAT B certificate after my 20 week scan.
I understand that I qualify for 52 weeks' maternity leave, made up of 26 weeks ordinary maternity leave and a further 26 weeks additional maternity leave.
So far I will be taking........... months of ordinary maternity leave. My approximate date of return to work will be ................... I would like to ask you for position with flexible hours with possibility of working partly from home.
I would like to start my maternity leave and pay on ................ I understand that if I wish to change this date I have to give you at least 28 days’ notice.
Please could you confirm the date I am due back at work.

Now I am waiting for my 16 week appointment with the midwife to discuss our results.

Update 1:

All result OK. 1:1300 odds with Dawn child (very good if over 1:150)
Only one little thing is that I am blood type A negative. So I have to get injection for Rhesus negative in case my baby is blood type positive.

Now I am waiting for my 20 week anomaly scan. ( 28/10/14)

Update 2:

20 weeks (28/10/14). We have been on our 2 scan and everything looks good. We are team BLUE :-) and we are in the process of choosing the name. So many choices!
