Homemade blackout curtains - baby room

The nights are getting shorter and slowly light is creeping in our baby room earlier and earlier. To help our baby boy sleep a little bit longer (past 5:30 in the morning :-)) we had to make his room dark.
After a few days of research I choose to add up black out fabric to existing curtains. Also cost effective!

I bought a few meters of thermal black out fabric from E-bay for £5.98.
Cut it to fit our existing curtains. I left a little bit of space on each side + at the bottom so the black out will not show when on window.

I have also bought Heat n Bond tape for £3.45 ( 9 meters). It makes it so easy to just iron it on! No sewing needed.

Just stick Heat n Bond tape on curtains, peal the protective tape and iron it.

Then  peal the other protective tape, put black out fabric on top and again iron it.

Tada! All done and bonded!

This is how the black hour fabric looks like on very, very bright day!
It took barely 30 minutes to do and cost is only incredible £9.45! Also more than 5meters of tape left if we want to do more windows! :-)
