Being safe

When we bought our house we have known that we want to have certain safety in place. One of the first things we installed were smoke alarms, heat alarms and carbon monoxide sensor. In our little 2 bedroom cottage we have 4.

This is heat alarm and we have it in the kitchen where smoke alarm will be nuisance.

This alarm is at the bottom of the stairs and have escape light.

Another smoke alarm between bedrooms at the top of stairs has escape light too.

Carbon monoxide alarm near our old boiler.  I always test them every few months.
We have invested also in the fire resistant safe for our important paperwork and travelling documents.
I am very careful with "white goods". I will never leave tumble dryer or charger on when not in or during a night. We are switching plugs off too. For example our kettle or microwave is not under power when we are not in.

It is in case of our kittens jumping on the kitchen worktop (we know that they do it) and accidentally switching something. In that case we have this hob.

Just a simple basic is the best option when having pets.
Also we have proper working locks everywhere. Proper chain on our solid wood door and about 3 different lock on our back gate. Our cats have microchip cat latch. So no strange cat can visit us. :-)
In the end of the day I sleep peacefully knowing that we did all we could for our safety and also for safety of our kittens
