The quotes were from one local boiler company which I have found on Check a Trade. The guy had a really good reviews.
Second company was recommended to us by my husbands parents and the third was British Gas. I thought that we will get them a chance (even if they do not have a history of being the cheapest ones)
So first service guy came (David). All in working clothes + measuring tape in back pocket. That is always a good sign. David was polite, measured everything and answered all my questions + no hard sell. I was quite nicely surprised. Don't forget that we got some window quotes last year. Worst sell people ever.
David's quote arrived 3 days later.
Exchange of boiler for Worcester combi 29 CDI.
All pipes are OK and by current specifications - don't need any change.
Replace of all TRV on 4 radiators + 1 radiator need be taken off and flushed properly.
New vertical flue, install inline filter, install inline descaler
Wireless programmable room stat (we do not have any at the moment)
Flushing of whole system (has to be done when getting new boiler) + inhibit system
Labour for 1 day of work ( 2 people) , certificate + 5 year warranty
Total : £2580 (with VAT)
Price is really what we expected. We would be happy to go with.
Second guy Brian came in also in working clothes and was polite. There was really no any difference from the first guy. We were quite happy with his answers.
Brian's quote arrived after a week ( his daughter doing the writing as he is busy working).
Exchange of boiler for Worcester combi 34 classic (he recommended stronger so we get the maximum from it and also if we are doing it so it is the best one suitable for us)

Also Brian is the plumber and he will fix one leaking tap + leaking toilet pipe in the bathroom.
So lower quote from Brian, stronger boiler, one new radiator (instead of flushing) and he can fix also some leaks.
Third quote was from British Gas
I arranged all quotes on Saturdays. I didn't want to use my holidays for only a 1 hour visit. British Gas is doing visits on Saturdays but only a few. It is surprising as people to be able to afford a new boiler are usually working!
In the end I got a appointment on Saturday morning but it was about 5 weeks after me arranging it!
The British Gas guy came and he was also in working clothes! He was polite and surprisingly didn't give us any hard sell. After measuring everything he asked if he can sit down and write us a quote. He had also a little printer with him! :-)))

Total : £3500 (with VAT) + £300 for a cleaner (something similar as magnaclen)
Also this quote is AFTER £400 discount!
So no any difficult decision we went with Brian and with Worcester combi 34 classic.
Work will be done in second week of July. It will be fun to not have a hot water for 3 days! :-)
