Our new boiler

Our new boiler is installed and working! Such a luxury to have a hot water on the tap. :-) It takes about 3 second to get it. With our old one we had to wait about 10 minutes!
We are still not done with all the work. We do a little by little in every free time what we have. It is hard with both of us having 2 jobs. Also this weekend is full of birthdays and BBQ and visiting friends. I have attacked our garden and also managed to wash all windows. My husband was busy painting, sealing & ironing. :-)

We got boiler from

Also Robs dad tried to fix our lights, but unfortunately the wires are all mixed so no light yet.

Rob painted the loft access but he has to still paint the board.

This is our new boiler. Pretty isn't it? Also you can see on the left that little white jar. That is magnaclean. It will keep our system muck free.

Magna clean has a cleanable filter so you can remove it and see the state of the system.

The hot water is working, but the heating is still switch off as the thermostat is not.

Unfortunately the boiler man didn't understand that we don't want to have heating nonstop and we would like to have a timer. He is hopefully coming back and installing something better than this non working thermostat.

Also everywhere are tools and paint. I really don't like anything untidy! That black blob on the right bottom corner is Micka's head. :-)

I had a accident on Saturday when cleaning our bathroom. The shower head fell of my hands and our bath got this. Big, big dent in the enamel. :-( I tried to fix it with enamel spray but it will take a lots of coats and it will probably never will be 100%. Oh well.

This is the offensive shower head. It is heavy and I was cleaning the limescale off.

My husband did manage to paint the bath and it looks now so much better. This pictures are the before.

Another thing left is the wall behind our new radiator. The wall is not very pretty as there was a leak. We bought the house with rotten windows.  Windows are now new but we are still finding some damage from them.

So that was our weekend. Owning the house is a hard work. It never really ends. I just find our this morning that our kitchen tap is leaking! Oh well.

  1. It makes such a difference when things are up and running properly at home. And I agree, owning a house can be hard work because there are always lots of little jobs to be done, especially when you install things like new boilers, but you seem to be getting things under control. Everything looks great so far!

  2. We have one, too. We were having an extension built and had planned to move the old boiler temporarily... but the gas engineer who came to move it said "dangerous!" and condemned it instead. Oh well, new boiler sooner rather than later! At least that one is more flexible and yes, it works fine with a (functional) thermostat.

  3. Thank you for your comments!
Almost 2 years later and our boiler is still working perfectly. Had only upped a pressure a little bit. Definitely a good investment to get a new boiler.
